Two Friends Take B.O.B. Ironman Strollers on a Mission for Cancer Research
Brendon Murphy and Nolan Taylor are on a mission: to run across the entire state of South Dakota, covering 429 miles in 14 days carrying all their needed supplies in B.O.B. Ironman strollers. Their campaign to raise awareness and money for cancer research is called "Chemo is Harder." Their high performance strollers will be carrying 40-60 pounds of gear, including clothing, tents, sleeping bags, food, water, cooking equipment, first aid kits, and electronics.
The friends plan to begin the trek on April 26, 2008 at Capitol, MT and finish on May 12 in Big Stone, MN, averaging 31 miles a day. Their journal chronicles some of the interesting and heart-warming experiences that transpire as they train for their adventure including the rapport they've established with their "teammates," B.O.B. and CHUCK:
"I suppose I better explain. Brendan decided to rename his B.O.B. because everyone calls their B.O.B. strollers BOB so...CHUCK IT IS! For now on when you read about CHUCK, you'll have to know that that is Brendan's term of endearment towards his new stroller. I haven't come up with mine yet but I know Gretta is a good possibility."
